So one more face to go :-)
I have always been interested in arts and literature and now I'd like to present works of my own.

Still two more faces to do/finish. For today I made a drawing in water colour-graphite:
My drawing has evolved through this challenge, thank you to everyone for visiting, sharing the journey and for you encouragement and positive energy evolving around the 29 Faces!
I'll work on the last two pieces for sure!

collaged chocolate boxes
I have been working with 29 faces and still have a few to do, but for Paint Party Friday and Paper Saturday I chose to try something different away from portraying my niece :-)
So here are:
A young man sketched free style with ink pen and added various colours.

And a linol cut I did inspired by Manon's Lottie (Manon Popjes and Paper Saturdays)
I made a print and added various colors again, the blue I added at last and it quite made my heart sing.
Seems like I'm in a blue mood ;-)
Sitting on a shelf in my study, side by side:
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

# 26 WIP still...
Here comes my canvas portrait added quite some colour :-)
I used a feather to apply the colors that weren't there on the face yesterday, love the effect.

# 25 work in progress!
Today's face is a mixed media portrait on a 50x70 cm or 19.5x27.5 inches canvas:
The photo is only part of the whole painting, there are some other things on the canvas that I'm going to show, when it is all finished.
Now there are only four more faces to go...
Love the challenge this time around even more than I did when I first participated in February :D
More faces tomorrow!

So working some more on that sculpture, playing with paints (acrylics & pastels) to achieve a more metallic look.

# 23
I gave her some paint to get a more human look. She now reminds me of a figurehead on an old ship lol! And then she wears one of my hat-creations (WIP) to make her more lady-like :-)
only 6 faces left! :D
I really enjoy the 29 Faces challenge, thank you Ayala, for this amazing challenge!!!

Here comes face 22 of 29 faces - one week to go and then I'll have 29+ portraits, sketches and a sculpture of one and the same person, quite amazing!
Here comes a charcoal sketch on a mixed media background, it looks a bit like granite or something:

I worked on the clay sculpture from yesterday. I gave her some hair and worked on some facial features.
Below I did some photo editing, helping exaggerating the contours:
See you tomorrow! :-)

# 19 and # 20, two works in progress
It's Friday, participating in Paint Party Friday and adding two faces to the 29 Faces challenge with Ayala Art, see link in the sidebar!
Here is face 18 worked on:
Here is face 18 worked on:
In the 29 Faces group on Facebook someone suggested I could work on this piece with threads somehow and I found my silk threads and started stitching the outline. There is still some work to be done on this. I'll show more progress photos as soon as I get on with it :-)
Face 20 is something completely different and something I don't do very often, actually last I did, was at the 29 Faces challenge in February. Here come some progress pictures:
Starting with a big lump of clay
Sketching in a few facial features and starting to mold:
This is how far I got today:
A smiling face, just like I feel today, after not getting anywhere yesterday.
Wishing you all a wonderful week end, take care!

# 18
Sketch on a shirt blouse back:
Not much ado, just quickly done with a water colour graphite pencil. I might paint her with acrylics or fabric paint later on.
Have a nice day and enjoy the endless number of faces on Ayala Art's blog, see link on the sidebar :-)

# 17
My contribution today for the 29 Faces in September challenge, see sidebar for link.
Here comes "Jean d'Arc"...
I sketched her birthplace as a background in pastels:
Then I sketched the statue and the face of my niece, but it didn't work as I wanted it to!!!
Here comes "Jean d'Arc"...
I sketched her birthplace as a background in pastels:
Then I sketched the statue and the face of my niece, but it didn't work as I wanted it to!!!
I covered the face with white acrylic, and sketched anew:
I sketched and painted over it again and then I thought I needed something different.
I turned to another reference photo and wanted to do something I hadn't done before. I actually wanted something textural, but didn't know what, or have anything, and then the gold flakes came to my mind, which I have a little box of.
I outlined the sketch with glue and layered the gold on top, bit by bit. Then I got out my water colours and painted the face, hair and outlines.
Now I'm really curious, what you think of her!
Sharing this on Facebook also in the 29 Faces group!

# 16
I tried something challenging for me today. I used childrens' oil pastel crayons to draw a portrait and it was pretty uncomfortable, I must say. I'm not very used to these sticks, but I take the challenge and work on face 17 now ;-)

and the 15th:
Photographed with some shadow over it still WIP!

Drawing faces and it's Friday!
Here is face # 13:
It is a charcoal drawing on structured printing paper. On the reference photo, the model was a little younger than on the other photos I used for the 29 Faces challenge. The charcoal made it a bit difficult to get the finer details properly. To do that I would probably need a larger paper - maybe I'll try that for tomorrow :-)
I also did a self-portrait-sketch. We had a little fun discussing self-portraits. So here is, what I did:
I don't know if anybody, who knows me would recognize me in this drawing...
Hope you enjoy the 29 Faces challenge Ayala Art has set for September (see the link in the sidebar) and please visit the other artists at Paint Party Friday!
Have a wonderful week end!
