Preparing for the show

I've told you about the show I got the chance to do together with one of my study-mates. On Wednesday I visited the place and agreed with people there on how things are run, very exiting but also I am a little more relaxed :-)

To have something achievable for everybody, I am going to make some cards with prints and splashes and paintings that might be interesting as birthday cards or a small gift.

I'm only showing one example that is finished today:

Also while cleaning my workspace and one of my shelves I found these homemade papers with models torn out of a newspaper, integrated in the process:

I made these a few years ago and remember that I wanted to add something to them, but just didn't know then, and now??? Well they will stay like they are for now.

Lastly I want to show you the finished piece of the one Face in the World II group I have worked on. It is the start by New York artist Malissa Priebe who started this and she has a strong style with expressive lines, Ayala Art added colour to the face and I collaged some firework sparkles and eyecolour and added some lines to the face.

This is it for today, please look over to Paint Party Friday

also sharing with Paper Saturday!

  1. Homemade papers are very interesting. Pleace, let them be like now. I love that paper where the woman is coming out or going inside the paper.

Your painting together is awesome project.

The artexibition is going very well, stay calm..:-)
And: Don't start to think everybody, think only yourself. You can of couse made some cards, but paint them yourself, and then all'll like them.

  12. Good Luck with your exhibition Ilona, your work is always beautiful. The finished FITW 2 piece looks great. It's so interesting to see the different styles come together to make one piece:)

  13. That's good you feel more relaxed about the exhibition now you've spoken with the people concerned. I like the different pieces you've posted today - those home made papers with the model in are really intriguing - how did you do it? The FITW 2 piece is really good - I like the idea of several artists each adding a little bit to it!

    1. Thank you Nic! About the papers, I cut/tore out the models and placed them in the bottom of the paper-filter (I don't know the exact English word) and on top of that you put the pulp. When the paper is pressed it will all stick together.
I might do a collaboration on my blog some time, if you are interested let me know! I think it would be a good idea to start small, postcard size is really good because it goes more smoothly through the mail.

  19. Lol you got me all excited about what you may be doing with those papers, I hope you will show us one day! I am happy you are doing the face in the world again. It is a shame I couldn't participate this time. The last few months have been too full with other stuff to be able to do anyting with my art, I am hoping life will be settled now and I am ready to start getting into it all again :) I am so behind with the pieces of collabrated art that I feel very guilty for holding two pieces up but one was finally on its way to you and I gather you received it the other one will be with you shortly too because I am now back in the UK again. Take care for now my friend! ManonX

    1. Dear Manon, please don't worry about the collaboration anymore, we all have times, when things don't go smoothly. It has been the same for Lizzy and things are moving on in a slower pace, but they are moving :-). Audrey's piece is with me still and I've just found a motive to paint and will send it on, when it is finished.
The FITW 2 is going faster because we are painting in postcard size and that's great!

I am so happy that you are participating in the collaboration and I love to interact with you and the groups on Facebook!

      Hugs Ilona xx
