They are all made from portraits by old masters.
The first is part of a larger painting, 1square meter, where the reference is from Agnolo Bronzino (again):
The next portrait is a portrait I painted as a book cover after a painting by Ivan or Jacob Argunov, it was not quite clear which of the two painted the unknown woman:
Below you see a portrait I did of Kunigunde of Austria (ca 1485) after a portrait by an unknown artist:
Lastly I show you this portrait of Alexandra Pavlovna ca 1790, (princess of Russia) I painted on a box as part of a birthday present for my niece:
I enjoyed painting these portraits. I hadn't done a lot of painting so the change from the pencils/graphite was wonderful!
Thank you all for visiting and have a wonderful weekend!
I'm sharing my post on the Paint Party Friday

Llona, I love your very classically done faces. I really like splotchy look you are starting with in the top painting. It is exciting and colorful.
ReplyDeleteSo well done! Keep painting!!!!
ReplyDeleteIn December you were a very busy artist to produce such gorgeous paintings. I love your portraits.
ReplyDeleteYour first portrait is so beautiful with these lovely colours and the abstracted technique you use round her face, and the second face is quite modern. I like them all, so realistic yet still a painting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful portraits.They look so professional.
ReplyDeleteThe portraits are creatively wonderful. Tiny pic, yikes. . . totally amazing to me. The owl in your last post is a fave (all birds are wonderful). I would love to visit all those sites on my art blog (Documented Life Journal Project). It's good to have a grasp to exceed. Thank you for visiting. I love all your blogs. I became a follower of this one. Blessings, Janet PPF

ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. I particularly like the last one. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteLovely inspiration and paintings!
