Some faces
Today I want to share a few pieces/portraits. The first one is a bird I painted for a friend on Facebook.
It is painted with acrylics and oil pastel on a fabric background.

Yesterday I finished this little print and water colour with some lines with my Pitt ink pen, keeping it quite simple :-)
The next two pieces are monochromatic water colour portraits I did about two weeks ago. I think the Paine's grey I used for this is very effective. I like the nuances you can create with it.
Lastly I want to share this mixed media piece I have drawn and painted in my new furniture catalogue art journal. I used pastels charcoal, acrylics and coloured pencils.
I hope you like the show today, I really loved working with these pieces!
Wish you all a fun party at: PAINT PARTY FRIDAY
And thank you to Kristin and Eva for hosting the mega event :D

Children's art and my own art
Today and yesterday my daughter and her friend and I worked on different paintings and objects.
I'd like to show you what my daughter and her friend have worked with: a sculpture with an owl carrying an ice-cone and a snail
My daughter has prepared a canvas for further work:
And the two girls painted over two portraits I have done earlier, and which I didn't want to keep:
Do you remember I told you about the face in the world? It is quite a long time ago a group of people from Ayala Art's 29 Faces group started the project. You can see two posts about it here and here. Today I completed one of the portraits. I collaged the blouse and added some of the background colour. The blouse is a drawing of shells with coloured pencils, on top of which I glued rice paper with some light blue water colour inc. She will be sent to Audrey in the US very soon!
I also did this little painting, which my daughter already has hung in her room. She said she liked it as it was, though I wasn't really finished!!! :D
Below I made use of an idea another artist shared on Facebook. She always uses a canvas as a palette when she works on a painting. That is what I have started doing. Below you can see one of those canvases. As my supply of acrylic is limited to a few colours including the primary colours, I often use those in my paintings and mix the colours as I need them.
And finally a canvas on which I used different materials acrylic, pastels, water colour. I want to give it away and would like to hear some opinions from you.

Hi you all! I'm slowly returning to the surface and enjoy getting some paint in my hands!
It's wonderful to be back in the blogging world and enjoy the company of other artists on the parties around in the blogosphere :-)
Finally I finished my exams for the teacher education with an oral exam on friday, so I am an English teacher now! Yes!!!
I have seen some of you are participating in the Summer of Colour and think it is a great inspiration! It will be too much for me to join in on that but I played with the colour prompt of the citron green and turquoise.
Here are a few small pieces:
I started off with water colours, but as I only have the three primary colours it is really difficult (impossible?) to get these delicate colors that were selected for the SOC prompt. But I bought new Stabilo point 88 pens yesterday and there the needed colours were represented :-) and something different for me to play with for a change! So here are some free style flowers and ornaments:

The following piece is a greeting card for a birthday and it is all in watercolour.
I'm going to insert a white card inside and add the birthday wishes and close the card with a ribbon.
The last piece is again a combination of water colour, pastel and stabilos the photo was taken before it was finished.
These will all go to a friend and brought in stead of flowers. I hope she will enjoy them!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
